Please welcome my friend and fellow blogger Dagmara, of Glamista Home, to the blog today. I have been searching for ideas to decorate my coffee table now that I’m between two coffee table makeovers. I love Dagmara’s decorating style and I’m so excited she’s gracing my blog with her styling tips and lovely photo’s today…including her sweet dog, Daisy. Enjoy!
Hello, my name is Dagmara and I blog over on GlamistaHome. My blog is focused around living the best life you can. I talk about starting over, decorating your home, books and share my 10+ years of marketing and business experience. I would love if you’d stop by the blog and say hello! Let me know that Karla sent you. 🙂
Today I wanted to share my tips on how I decorate my coffee table. My decorating philosophy is fairly simple, as little clutter as possible, use only the things that you really love and go glam! 🙂
My go-to items for table décor are books, candles, flowers (if available) and some pretty trinkets to finish up the space.
Most of the pieces I use I rotate from other areas of my home. I don’t always keep these on my table and I update the décor as I start to bore of it.
My coffee table is mostly decorated in a horizontal manner. I am trying to stay mindful of the positioning of my TV and other sitting areas along with the height of my table. You don’t want to have a large object obstructing your view.
Also, if you are using your coffee table as your dining space, make sure the items you have so nicely stacked can be easily moved when you need to create room for your plates.
I get a lot of questions about my table and if the marble top stains easily. I’ve had the table now over 2 years and there are no stains. We did spill some red wine on it and I am sure it had some other spills along the way. I wipe down the table on a regular basis with Windex for windows and it seems to do the trick. Without boring you to death about my OCD, let’s get started with the fun part, the décor!
I wanted to share with you two décor options how you can beautify your table. I think everyone has some books and a pretty candle holder and some favorite, close to the heart, trinkets they like to display. You won’t need expensive pieces to make your coffee table decor fabulous.
Here I used a few of my favorite coffee table books, Jonathan Adler coasters and an ashtray to keep matchboxes to light all my candles.
For the second option I picked one of my trays to hold the items nicely organized in one focal place on the table. Again I use some coasters, flowers and a book to offset the arrangement. I especially like orchids and roses for arrangement like this.
What are some of your go to décor essentials that you are always displaying? Do you use trays to organize your décor items? Please let us know in the comments section.
I would like to thank my fabulous host Karla for allowing me to take over her space for a day and share my love for décor.
