This is Part 1 of a blog series along with four other talented bloggers. Be sure to check out their outdoor decorating ideas below!
Last spring, I repurposed my Grandfather’s old butchers table to an outdoor buffet. The turquoise paint color really stands out and it’s time for the rest of the space to catch up. We have plans to refinish the deck this year with a deck refinishing product…most likely using DeckOver by Behr.
I found some colorful pieces at Target last week when I went shopping, and a few more outdoor accents online. I think the coral along with turquoise looks nice and will give our deck a lot more color.

I especially like the rug and the outdoor pillows, and think those will be a beautiful addition to the deck. Although the bistro set doesn’t provide a lot of seating, I have a bench around most of the deck. We have a six seat set now and most people end up sitting on the benches. It’s decorative and would be nice for occasional use. I might end up adding a few more side tables for our guests to have a place to eat.
I would like to add some colorful serving pieces to my buffet as well. I have beverage dispensers and a storage trunk for our grilling tools, but have my eye on a few other things for entertaining. I would really like to have a beverage tub to serve canned or bottled drinks.
Porch Parties looks like a great book filled with recipes and entertaining ideas. It’s almost half the price on the kindle (and free for KindleUnlimited subscribers), but I prefer to have the book. One of my favorite beverages to serve at parties is the Pampered Chef Strawberry Lemonade Quencher, which I usually double. It’s always a hit and I usually add sliced lemons and strawberries.
I am looking forward to refinishing and decorating our deck soon, and hopefully hosting some family gatherings this summer. Between the deck and carport nearby we always have plenty of space for entertaining.
I’m also ready for my hydrangeas and roses to bloom…they make the perfect decoration, anytime…
