If you follow my Instagram page, you may have seen pictures and stories of my awesome finds from Valley Mission Thrift Store! I have scored some beautiful accents for my home and a few fashionable items for my kids just in time for school, including some name-brand hoodies for a few dollars a piece. I think our kids are enjoying my thrift store outings as much as I am!
Today, I’m featuring my latest finds from Valley Mission Thrift that were priced $3 or less! I’ve been searching for two of these pieces for a while now and the others were pieces I just couldn’t pass up.
This pretty gold piano lamp is one piece I have been on the hunt for and found this one for $3! I have wanted this lamp to complete the look of our thrift store organ we have in my husband’s music room. My husband Keith loves the sound of the organ and this has been the perfect addition to his music room that we have been decorating a little at a time over the last few years. I think it looks perfect sitting beside the Miles Davis picture.
Here’s a closer look at the lamp. I’m not sure how old this one is but it is a classic piece and if you search the internet for a piano lamp like this, but you won’t find a new one for anywhere close to $3. They’re pretty pricey! This one has a few places that are worn around the edges but I think it gives it a rustic look.
This next find wasn’t something I’ve been looking for in particular but I have been trying to add a few more plants around the house, mostly sticking with succulents because they’re easy to care for. I saw this pretty turquoise and white planter priced at $1.95 and just had to have it! It looks lovely sitting on our mantel.
I posted a photo of this planter yesterday with the aloe plant and another photo of the planter with an ivy plant. I asked my followers which one they liked best and they all chose the aloe plant…so the aloe was the winner! I love having an aloe plant around, not only because it’s pretty, but it’s the best for treating burns. It sure came in handy a few weeks ago when I was sunburned while tubing on the river. I had covered myself with sunscreen but still managed to miss a few spots, but the aloe sure helped!
I occasionally run across pretty accents for my bar cart and I have been looking for an ice bucket for a while now. I have one already with a brushed nickel finish but it doesn’t look so great with the classic pieces I have on sitting on the bar cart, especially with my Great Grandparent’s lovely green and gold decanter set. I found this gold ice bucket at Valley Mission Thrift for just $2! What a steal…and it looks PERFECT with the decanter set!
Is it too early to be thinking about Christmas? I called this my Christmas in July deal…these adorable Christmas Tree spreaders for just 75 cents. They still had the packaging tape on the sides that hadn’t been opened. So cute and I’m sure they’ll make a nice addition to the holiday table!
You may have noticed the pretty pink stemware on the bar cart? These were the pieces I was talking about earlier that I just couldn’t pass up. Valley Mission Thrift had these lovely glasses displayed on a dining table and they caught my attention right away! And priced at just 95 cents a piece, I just HAD to have them! My Grandma collected depression glass so having this light pink stemware displayed makes me think of her.
I decided they looked better displayed in our corner China cabinet along with our wedding China. They really stand out against the white dishes and of course they are safer there. As clumsy as I am, it’s best they are behind closed doors. 🙂
I’m just thrilled with my recent finds from Valley Mission Thrift Store…and that they were all $3 or less! What a great way to add the perfect accent pieces to my decor while spending very little money. I look forward to showing you the entertaining pieces over the holidays when I use them to decorate and entertain!
