I completed my fireplace mantel a few months ago and still haven’t decided on what kind of tile I want for the hearth. The associate at my local Home Depot store said that choosing the tile would be the hardest part of the job. I believe he is right since I have selected quite a few possibilities and still haven’t made a decision. I know I want to keep it simple since I tend to change my mind a lot.
I do want different shapes other than square or rectangle, but want a clean look and lighter color since I want the floor in my kitchen to be a darker color. I’m looking at this color of vinyl plank flooring as a possibility to put throughout the kitchen…so I will want the fireplace tile to have some contrast.
You can see where I removed the old tile in this picture. I will have to do some work to level it out before placing the tile.
Here are a few ideas I have for tile.
I love the look of this tile….
And maybe the same kind of tile with color?
I really like this hex tile too…
I really like this penny tile in light blue…it would definitely add color and I think it would look nice with the gray bricks.
Maybe the penny tile in white?
I’m not sure I could go with this one, but I do like the colors and the look of the tile…
