A review of the Cloud Comfort rug pad-
I received this product for free to provide an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
It’s been a while since I have posted any updates of my living room. This room has taken some time to come together because it’s a collection of my thrift store finds more than any other room in our house. I often talk about decorating with thrift store finds, family pieces, or with things you already have. Our living room rug was something we already had and it sat in our basement for years before it dawned on me that it would look good in our living room and add some color after I put white slip-covers on the sofas.
My husband bought this rug for his first home before we were married and it looked so nice in his bachelor pad, even with the big framed Jimi Hendrix poster hung above the TV in his living room. I guess that’s what you can expect when you’re dating a musician, but they can expect that won’t happen once they’re married. Just letting all you single musician guys know ahead of time! 🙂
Our rug has held up well with two kids, a cat, and my clumsiness, but keeping the hardwood floors in good shape beneath it was a concern at times. When I was introduced to the rug pads at RugPadUSA, I knew I wanted a pad that protected the floor from moisture. We’ve had a number of spills on this rug, mostly water, except for that big glass of tea I spilled across the floor recently. Yeah, big mess!
That’s why I chose the Cloud Comfort rug pad for our rug because it has a moisture barrier and provides a cushion beneath made of 100% visco-elastic memory foam. It’s been wonderful and I noticed the difference right away as soon as I walked on it!
We cleaned the hardwood floors really well before putting the rug pad down and if you have a large rug like we do, you might find it helpful to mark at least two of the corners of your rug with painter’s tape or masking tape like we did, so you will know where to place the rug pad and get your rug back in the same spot it was before.
I sent RugPadUSA the exact measurements of our rug and the rug pad was cut to fit perfectly. The pad is just slightly cut about an inch or so inside the rug so you won’t see it at the edges.
The smooth side of the Cloud Comfort rug pad is the side that faces up. And just how well does it protect the floor from moisture? Well, I tested it out by pouring water right on the rug pad and left it there over five minutes and it never absorbed into the pad! It stayed just like this the whole time…
I will not have to worry about the hardwood floors now when we spill anything. Before, I had to put a folded towel down under the rug after cleaning up the excess moisture so it wouldn’t get the floor wet. That was a pain if the spill was close to the middle of the floor.
We have been really happy with our new Cloud Comfort rug pad and I would highly suggest it, especially in a high traffic area or room that gets everyday use like ours does. We also have a basement and it’s quiet when someone walks across the living room now. This rug pad would be great if you live in an apartment building and have neighbors below as it has high levels of sound absorption.
We’ve had some time to test it out now and everyone noticed the difference as soon as they stepped onto the rug. I hope you found this review to be helpful in selecting a rug pad, but RugPadUSA has so many different rug pads to choose from to fit your needs. You’ll find pads with cushion, some that are non-slip, and there are options for different flooring types as well.
Thanks to RugPadUSA for the wonderful Cloud Comfort rug pad and for giving our rug a nice upgrade!
